Rather be Paddling is an Australian Company launched May 2009 in Perth, Western Australia. We aim to:

i. Build community among local paddlers
ii. Facilitate the sharing of information, opinions and services within the paddling community
iii. Provide a high quality web system that is easy to use
iv. Not take ourselves particularly seriously

Our site will grow and develop over time. In the unlikely event that it ever generated any money, we will (a) be surprised and (b) spend it on new boats.

Directors

Dave Boldy is a teacher, husband, dad and paddling try-hard. He is currently President of the Champion Lakes Kayak Club, and former Treasurer at Ascot Kayak Club. He's had a crack at 13 Avon Descents and half of a Hawkesbury Canoe Classic. Among his convoluted resume lie outdated computing qualifications and time spent as CEO of two charitable institutions.

Mike Whitaker learned to paddle as a member of the Cottesloe Surf Club in the late 1970's. Since those early excursions on surf skis, Mike has travelled Australia extensively while work provided an excuse to train & race in all sorts of boats and locations. He is married, has 2 rapidly growing boys (K2 crew?) & spends the working day involved with I.T. He currently cycles more than he paddles, however is never too far from water.

Mike and Dave enjoy facilitating communication among the paddling community, as well as fiddling about with websites.
