Here's a forum topic for anyone with helmet cam or similar footage. I suggest uploading to Youtube or similar then posting the link here.

I didn't enter 2010 ... so over to you folks ...

Day 1 Leg 1 Vid

Nice vid of the first Leg. I sat around for ages waiting for Ross to finish this leg so I could do the next bit. I now have a little more understanding why he took so long.

Network 10 chasing footage promptly

Michael Tetlow from Ten News has contacted me regarding any helmet cam or similar footage from AD2010. He is trying to get such footage for their AD2010 special.

Sooooo if you have some footage and are prepared to share it, email me on 920rookie@westnet.com.au and I will pass on his details promptly.

They need to have the show ready by Monday 16th, so please make contact ASAP.

Don't keep it to yourself, help promote the great event and the sponsors, and give us something to enjoy over a beer.

I suggested they should put flyers in next year's starters pack so they can get any footage sooner. They like the idea and will look into it.

Re: Head cam footage

I get footage every year for Channel 10 and despite using a bucket load of my footage the last 3 years, they still never email or ask directly. Don’t they keep a list of contacts?

I have footage again this year although only Northam to Wetherall due to water ingress in the ti trees at the end of day 1.

It’s probably too late now, which is a pity as I had a few really good clips of the paddlers passing power boats in the shallows before Katrine, and bucket loads of good clips showing paddlers jogging/ dragging/ cursing etc.
Again they are more than welcome to use my footage, although it’s probably too late now. I have it burnt to disc so could overnight it if they’re still keen.

bells sprints

(low res head cam not good enough for ch10)

The raised mount would have worked better if I aimed the camera down a bit more.

Nice footage Fiasco

Interesting camera mount ... wish I was there to see it. Care to post a photo of the contraption you used to have it high and in front of your head?

Lucky the water level was not too high, might have knocked it off :-) Did it mess with your vision?

Is that event DR only or can ski folks have a bash?

Low res head cam was fine last year for Ch10, they did P in P and it was fine. They have raised their standards, maybe they need to sponsor RBP with free cameras.

Oregon ATC9k (HD) $350ish ... I'm waiting for <$250.

ATC9K

Cool. I'll have to lose another camera and get a replacement. Maybe after recently losing a 1 week old ForerunnerXT, I am low on the brownie points, though.

Aluminium tube bipod, about a metre high. Looked really funny in front but managed to ignore it.

Non DR are always welcome at DR races, just don't win the trophies. Bridgetown this weekend.
