Prepare your Boat
We will be posting suggestions for paddlers to follow that will show you how to prepare for a 1-1.5 hour event. Everything that we talk about in this series of posts will be applicable to the rest of your paddling training, so this is a good chance to learn how to apply a structured approach to your training.
This will not be technique training, we are assuming that you can paddle & keep your boat upright on open water.
The first real thing to think about for the Classic is boat selection. I'm planning on paddling my Avon K1 as it is quick & stable. Yes; you heard it first here, WP is getting back on the water in an attempt to test out the effect of a few months rest and a well placed cortisone injection!
Note; WP's idea of rest = not paddling, but cycling like a looney!
Cheers, WP.

Surf ski ding repair
Where is the best place to take you surf ski to get a ding repair? Has anyone got worked done on their kayak by Peter Hawcke?
Why a K1?
All the cool kids will be in skis. You should try it WP, you just might like it! And with all the boat traffic in the river it's nice to be able to catch a bit of wash . . . .
The answer is simple
Ski Girl, good to hear from you, it's been a while since your last post (how are those ab's?)
The answer is simple, I don't have a ski! The last time I borrowed an Icon just for a race it ended in tears as I think that you need to get used to them before expecting them go move well.
On the other hand, I'd jump on the back of a double with you if you were keen! (Did that sound right?)
Cheers, WP.
